After well over a decade of hard work, the society is pleased to let everyone know that a request for proposal to construct the Jajiktek Seawall Trail is finally ready.

"The Municipality of the County of Inverness (MCI), in collaboration with project partners, including the Seawall Trail Society, the Mi’kmaq of Nova Scotia, Build Nova Scotia, NS Department of Environment & Climate Change, and NS Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage, are seeking proposals from experienced hiking trail design and construction firms to finalize the design and alignment of the Nova Scotia Jajiktek Seawall Hiking Trail system, including three remote accommodations sites, and then to construct the trail system including the accommodations according to the finalized plan. The planned project completion date is July 1st, 2026.
